GARDEN HOUSE~GREENHOUSE~SHE SHED

A few months back, the oldest cottage on my street was up for sale.  Full of character and charm but needed some work.  At one point, Hubby and I considered buying it but decided it wasn't the right time.  Especially, when you are still working on the one you live in.
The cottage sold to a wonderful couple who downsized (just like us).  Upon learning the couple would be replacing all the "old" windows, I was offered the chance to get them.  Well, I couldn't pass that up.....
I now have over 50 nice old windows...some with character, some plain.  So what does one do with all these windows??
Well, Hubby decided to tell me, he was going to build me a Garden House/Greenhouse/She Shed!  Wow, did he ever speak too soon.....So here are some examples I have been scouring PINTEREST and the internet for...

They are so nice in their own special design.  Each one has something I like. This project will not be until next year but I am looking forward to it.  We have a few other more important things to do like put a new roof on the garage.
The Garden House will be approx. 8 x 8  or 10 x 10.  depends on the windows etc.
I have found a neat 100 yr. old door for it too!

Which one is your favorite?

Blessings~~~Roxie

  1. Hi Roxie!
It´s sounds great that you have 50 windows to your project.
My favorite is the 1st one and the blue green one.
I have done a little house of old windows and door in my garden.
You can see it the whole process of when we made it here:

  2. I stumbled across your blog -and have no idea how I got here. lol However, I just love what you are doing and we, too, are in the process of downsizing. I would LOVE a 'sheshed/greenhouse' built out of old windows. My hubby was in the window/door/siding business for many years so I was able to acquire, and use, a lot of old windows over the years. There is nothing like the character they bring to a project.

I don't see any way to follow you on your blog. Am I missing the 'follow by email' or "following" thing somewhere? Would love to follow along with your life journey. Diana

  3. Girlfriend, these are very hard choices, because like you I like something about each one. If I had to choose it would be between the fifth photo and the sixth, but then again I would want to add to the roof the charm of the last photo. What a blessing this is and what a sweet hubby. Have fun planing your new project. I can picture you all cuddled in by a warm fire this winter drawing pictures and making plans :)
