I've been bringing a few items in for the dining area of the cottage. The "original" plan to put the dining table in another room, was changed. This is plan B....I like it better!
This is a basic, simple look ..... I have a few wall areas I need to fill.....it's good for now!
I'm still not sure about the lace curtains.....I do love them but I may change it up later on. There is sooo much going on right now, I am using what I have. I am going to try soft, long panels to frame the windows...that may look better.
I want to add a little industrial, rustic look in places too! Once we get officially moved...then the decorating fun begins!
Have a blessed and wonderful week~~~from one sweetie to another~~~Roxie

Oh my Roxie this is beautiful I tried to zoom in on your chandelier but it wouldn't let me. I read that you may change from the lace curtains but I think they look magnificent. I love the whole look!!! It is divine...

Hello Roxie,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that the dining table is working where you want it to be. It's a challenge in these older homes, to make everything work out, sometimes :)
Love the lace, but I can see that you have some French doors to address; I can see how that may change the window treatment plans.
I also had a set of French doors in a bay window type of area to address. I've been here just three months, and I've already changed that window treatments.
It works much better for me now, and most importantly, lets in a lot more light.
Just a few more days, and you'll be living there full time, right?
Until next time....
Kerin
Hello Roxy, love the table, happy wored out for you. Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity and openness.
ReplyDeleteRoxie, I love it all so much . YOU have an amazing sense of style my friend. And no matter what the item or decor you marry it all like it was meant to be. I love it all. Thanks for always sharing apart of your amazing talent and soul with all of us. xoxox HUGS
ReplyDeleteLooks like country living magazine. Your doing a great job!
ReplyDeleteLove your dining room...it's so pretty!! I love the idea of adding a little industrial and rustic to the mix. I've added some of it into our living room and I think it looks great with cottage style.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Cindy
I love that - clean, simple, light, and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteRoxie,
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful. I love it all. Your chandelier is gorgeous and love the table and chairs and the sweet wrought iron bench. Too sweet. Your cottage is looking so sweet.
Kris
I have to first thank you for such a lovely comment on my blog post today. You are so genuine and sweet!
ReplyDeleteYour dining room is so pretty. I can see how the windows are difficult because they are so different from each other. It looks like you don't have much room on the left side of the window with the double door there. Maybe you could do a valance there and a soft swag on the other? I, too, love mixing a little rustic with my more feminine/cottagy things. Maybe a rustic basket on the table, you could even do your curtains in bleached burlap or linen for texture. I really love mixing and matching. Your home is just beautiful and you have so many great ideas. Keep up the good work! :)

ReplyDeleteRoxie - I think this is a divine room. Everything looks gorgeous. I can see wonderful times spent with your sweetie at this spot. Hope it will not be too long til you are all settled in. Wonder what will be next?? Sending you hugs and blessings for a great week-end.
ReplyDeleteI think your dining room looks just stunning already, Roxie! It looks so light and airy with your white furnishings. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteRoxie,
ReplyDeleteYour dining room looks lovely, I adore that lil bench, so cute and charming. Like the lace curtains too, they especially look good on the window by the doors, but
I could see how some long panels would look nice at the window to maybe add a softer look. All very pretty.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
Blessings, Nellie

ReplyDeleteRoxie, your kitchen and dining room are both cottagey perfect! I love the open shelves and the light you made from a toaster.
ReplyDeleteIt's so very pretty, Roxie! Decorating a new place is so fun but it does take time. I would say you are off to a fantastic start. I really love that bench at your table!
ReplyDeleteOh, Roxie, I'm already swooning over this room! LOVE so many details...the church bulletin, the wire bench, the wicker market basket, the pitcher of flowers...oh, I could go on and on...beautiful! :)

Hi Sweetie! Love that French Door too...or is it a patio door? You have so much light in this room, it just makes the white glow. What an inviting and bright place to have dinner, or a dinner party. I know the work needed is overwhelming, but you are doing such a great job here.
ReplyDeleteI like lace curtains, but I would trust your judgement any day. Let that artist in you fly!
Blessings,
Ceil
Oh Roxie, what a beautiful place to enjoy a meal and I love those big windows, too. So much light and I'm sure a lovely view. You always do such a gorgeous job of decorating, love that metal bench . . . so pretty :)
