A LITTLE TRIP...........

I've been away for a few days visiting a friend in Dandridge, Tenn.  So since one of my favorite things to do is visit these small quaint towns, I thought I would show you pics of my travel.

This is the BEAUTIFUL Roper Mansion.  Right now, it is an antique shop.  It has 3 levels and the back of the home has complete double porches  (longer than the front of home)  It is gorgeous!  These pics do it no justice.

                                      View from across the street.........

Back side view.........these 2 levels of porches are an "L" shape   (sorry, I know it's not the best pic)

This is the Shepherd Inn.  This is also in downtown Dandridge.

This historic home is built around the "original, log cabin inn" inside!!

The Maxwell House.........a very cute shop and boutique!

I had to take a picture of this............Yes, there is only ONE WAY......
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but my me.    John 14: 6

This graveyard is right in town

And this is a residence in town.....just up from the Roper Mansion.  Very Nice!

I hope you enjoyed a few of my beautiful sights!  I have much more but I will show you at a later date of other towns I visited!

Also Sweet Vintage of Mine has a FaceBook Page!!  I would LOVE for you to LIKE!!

                                    Blessings~~~from one sweetie to another~~~Roxie

  4. Hi Roxie! I love road trips, and this one looks like so much fun. The photo of the Roper Mansion almost makes it look like it's tilting, doesn't it?

It's good to have friends who live in fun places! I really haven't traveled in Tennessee, but I'd love to someday.

    Happy Sunday!

  6. Hi Roxie, my what a lovely tour, thank you for letting me tag along :) I do most of my traveling through tagging along with my blogging friends. A couple weeks ago I had a dear blogging sister write my name in the sand on a beach in France. What a thrill that was when I saw it on her blog. These home are beautiful. I noticed that they are all very close to the streets and wonderful if it has to do with their age. Back then they probably just had a narrow dirt road for buggies, so widening them for cars and two way traffic would cut into the front yards. I had to laugh at the one way, graveyard alley sign :)
    Welcome back, we missed you,
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  9. Roxie - love seeing your pictures of these beautiful spots. I especially adore those porches. Have you ever been to Jonesboro, Tenn? It is the oldest town in the state...super fun place to visit - even have a cookbook from there. You are such a dear to share. I also laughed at your sign but rejoiced over the passage you included. John is my favorite gospel (I think it is because he writes so much on love). Take care and have a great week.

  11. Just came across your beautiful blog from "Patty's Pretty Things". You and I have many similar interests in rusty, chipping vintage pieces. Your trip looks wonderful, I HAD to comment on that road sign, Graveyard Alley and the one-way sign. PERFECT verse to accompany the picture. Our pastor always says--"never seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul--live your life for God-follow Jesus and nothing else really matters.
