ReplyDeleteYep, it's voting time! I love the pictures especially the one from Ohio River area. As a WV gal, I know that Ohio River well!
ReplyDeleteYes it is a priviledge that our ancestors fought so hard for. I love the buzz at the polling place and am so proud to wear my "I voted" sticker placed on my collar usually by a little elderly woman.
ReplyDeleteGod bless America
I think sometimes we all forget the importance and priviledge we have in the ability to vote. I have taken my young grandchildren (one at a time) with me to vote and tried to instill in them the priviledge we have. I always let them wear my "I Voted" sticker and they are so proud.

This was a great posting Roxie. It is so important our freedom and the ability to vote. When you vote it shows how much you appreciate our freedom.

Hi Roxie ~ Yes, amen to voting, I do too. To answer your question about the chalk paint ~ Yes, I simply crushed about 3 sticks of chalk (My Little Eva loves to use it outside while I paint), anyway, crush it in a bag really well with a hammer, I then diluted it with just a tad amount of water and stirred into the paint. This is the second time I have done this, and I think it just creates enough of a chalky look to the dresser. Tip, make sure the chalk is very well crushed. That was it. I like to create the shabby chic look on my dresser, so I really don't stress about how they will turn out or even if they will turn out, I just trust my inner instincts and go for it. On my blog there is another dresser I recently painted with the chalk made up method. It was titled "how to create a chalky painted pinky white dresser" Let me know if you try it. I like to experiment so I hope it works for you or at least you like it too. God Bless You,

Enjoyed this interesting post, thanks.
ReplyDeleteHubby and I voted on Friday in an old small town court house in the court room. There was something so patriotic about it. We saw a local veteran all dressed in his blues in line to vote. I wish I had a picture. It was so patriotic and it really felt good to cast my vote alongside my fellow Americans. Great post!
ReplyDeleteGREAT post. Love the pictures! Voting is a wonderful privilege of our freedoms as well as our civic duty.

ReplyDeleteDearest Roxie - these are lovely photos - what a blessed priviledge we have in this nation under God to cast our vote. May all of America take advantage of this opportunity. Thanks so much for sharing the sweet pictures - especially love the man on horseback.
ReplyDeleteThese are such great shots from across the U.S. It's crazy to think how small some of the voting locations are! This is such an exciting time for our country! I will be one of the thousands who waited last minute...my hubs and I are heading out in the morning. Wish us luck!!
ReplyDeleteI love these shots. What a wonderful and diverse nation we are. I will be standing in line to exercise my right to vote today :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
Love these pictures Roxie, so cool to see all these different places across America! I know your not supposed to talk about who you are voting for, but I can break this rule as I'm not American lol... I hope Obama stays in, he's a great man with a kind heart and really wants to do some good in this world. I hope he gets another 4 years of chance to do this! :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day hun!
