Hi friends! Is everyone staying warm?
Since it's soooo cold outside......I've been busy inside. The kitchen is basically finished except a little trim around the baseboard. I am looking to add a few vintage glass cake stands to my collection and it's always fun to change/add to the decor for the seasons.
I am very pleased how this tiny kitchen turned out (8x9) and my Ken did a wonderful job! I am happy with the selections we made..as in the farmhouse sink, Martha Stewart cabinets and hardware, the IKEA butcher block, and the shelving I put together myself from Home Depot. Note: Martha's shelving/brackets were $1,200..no way! This shelving and brackets cost around $200 (tax included)
I really like the vintage/retro style GE stove and the fridge fit perfect.
I am using a vintage lace tablecloth for the skirt sink but I will be looking for something else soon...
The lavender in the pitcher is from my garden at the farmhouse.....it still smells wonderful~~~
I love my sweet antique toaster light~~~
I do have a blank wall on this side next to the fridge.........I'm looking for that "something special" to go there
Have a wonderful and Blessed weekend~~~Roxie

Oh oh oh I just love how your cottage kitchen has turned out. It looks like you need a SMEG frig! You must love cooking and baking in here. I am so happy for you. It's lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is so charming, Roxie. It's clean and simple and very nice. Wouldn't that be nice to have a farmhouse sink, it's so big! And I noticed your lovely hutch in the next room. Your husband did a wonderful job on everything.
ReplyDeleteIt's been pretty cold here too, but no snow. Have a peaceful weekend, Roxie.

Your kitchen may be small, but it's filled with vintage charm, Roxie!!! I love every single choice you made. I've never seen the retro stoves for sale and if I were in the market for one now, I'd choose one like yours. I love your farmhouse sink and toaster light and I know you'll fill that blank space with something wonderful! Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteHi Roxie, I love your little kitchen. You are a genius in knowing how to pull all of that together in such a small area "8X9" I never would have guess that. Your sink is amazing and I love the butcher block counter tops. Oh, and the little hanging light fixture . . . Is that an old toaster? Oh, I know that it is and it is so charming.
ReplyDeleteGreat space! Thanks for stopping by my blog and helping me celebrate my three years of blogging :)
just adorable, roxie! LOVE, love your sink! and the toaster light is totally creative! enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWowsie Roxie this kitchen is the cutest ever. I love everything you did. Ken did a wonderful job putting your vision all together. What a great team you two make.
ReplyDeleteI love love the farmhouse sink that is too sweet. Your retro stove is adorable. I just looooove every inch of this kitchen. Roxie you hit it out of the park on this one. Great job my friend. The antique toaster light is just spectacular. This is amazing, unique and so so sweet.

I love your kitchen and that farmhouse sink is awesome!! I debated on a white farmhouse sink or the stainless steel farmhouse sink...and went with the stainless. I have the same kitchen hardware on my cabinets that you do...but mine are bronze. Just love your open shelves and your lights are the perfect touch in there.

It all came together so beautifully - you should feel very proud to have created such a lovely space in your sweet cottage. Looking forward to more pics of your warm and welcoming home. Happy 2015!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I love the wider beadboard! I hope our shelves go up straight and level like yours! Thanks for the heads up!

ReplyDeleteYour kitchen turned out just as cute as can be!!
Love your sweet little touches, and the shelving is practical and pretty too!
I'll bet that you smile every time that you are in that kitchen. Job well done!!!

Your kitchen transformation is adorable...love the Martha Stewart touch! You found a little diamond in the rough with your cottage. How fun to be able to make it your own!

Roxy, it's adorable! The work was so worth it. I love all the white and the GE stove you chose. It looks vintage. The cost of the brackets and the shelves is one of the same reason we made our own shelving. It really doesn't take into account that a small kitchen needs shorter boards. They come in certain sizes and that's it, so if you buy them, they cut them. That would be a loss.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE everything that you are doing! We just had to feature you this week, great job!
