I posted about this ANTIQUE IRON BED a few weeks ago. I found it at a YARD SALE for $60.00. It came with the original metal spring mattress base (not shown). I'm trying to decide what to do with it~~~so I looked up BEAUTIFUL BEDROOMS decorated with an ANTIQUE IRON BED........
This look is very simple~~~~but I love the white bedding~~~~
More practical but very nice~~~~
Very COZY and INVITING~~~~~A GREAT MIX!

OR MAYBE I SHOULD DO THIS?~~~~~~~~
I have all winter to decide~~~I could paint my ANTIQUE BED and RE-DO a room or put it in my outdoor garden! Then again....maybe someone else would like it! What would you do? Also...joining the party at www.oldtimefarmhouse.blogspot.com with Cindy!

ReplyDeleteOh...what a hard decision. I love the look of it in a bedroom, but I love how it looks out in a garden too. Can't wait to see which way you go with it.

I like how we all 'pick' something that calls out to us and then later, we have to determine what to do with it. Great piece and inspirational photos.
ReplyDeleteFarmhouse hugs,
Cindy
Really lovely, hard decision.
ReplyDeleteI would use it inside for sure. I had an old iron bed while growing up and want one again! It is lovely, Jean
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, Roxie! If you have a room you can use it in, I'd say keep it. It would be a fun garden feature, too. Love the bedroom photos you found.
ReplyDeleteI would hold on it. It's beautiful! It would look great with an old chenille bedspread or an old quilt on it. Have fun deciding!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see it painted in white!
ReplyDeleteBut also you are so creative Roxie, I'm sure it will look FABULOUS whatever you do with it! :-)

SWWWWWWEEEET! LOL (grin) Girl you always know how to make me SMILE! (thankyou!!!)
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love your sweet iron bed! Such a tough decision to make! I love a mix of country/shabby chic -- with a bent toward shabby. haha Painting the bed a creamy white and fluffing it all up with a featherbed and whispy bedding would totally make me happy but ... on thee other hand... WHAT A GORGEOUS "flower" bed you could make!??? I once saw a bed like that made into a petunia bed and it was just out in the middle of a yard and the bed part was "mounded up" kinda high with soil. Then wave petunias were planted and they just spilled out all over the place. It was a sight to beHOLD I'm tellin ya. --- Well I'll be anxious to hear what you decide to do. I have two I'll be "planting" in my garden area soon. Kinda anxious to put the garden "to bed" for winter. lol xoxo MUCH LOVE to you today chicky!!! LOVE that new banner! whoOooOHoOoOooOo!! Grow girl!
decisions decisions! whatever you decide, it will be fabulous! what a great find!!
ReplyDeleteGreat find, love your inspiration pictures, the first one is my fave, looks so pretty :) Can't wait to see what you do with yours!

What a great treasure. I think it looks great either way but in the garden would be so sweet. Wow you find the best treasures.

Oh, Roxie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! If it were me, I'd re-do a room, and use it inside.
What a treat it would be to curl up on that old bed, and have a cozy nap.
Keep us posted about what you decide to do :)
I think either way would be nice. Literally a bed of flowers and a nice conversation starter, or redoing a room, that could be fun too! Either way I can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteOf course the rooms are lovely, but when I saw the flower bed, I found it stunningly beautiful. What a great find. I am sure it will be great whatever you do with it. Hope you share with us.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's gorgeous! Love it outside, but I'd love it even more inside! It would add lots of character to a room :)

Greetings Roxie, Thank you for your recent visit and I am honored you liked my blog enough to become a follower. The iron beds are so pretty. I had a pretty one that I let go of back several years ago that I wish I had NOW. We do crazy things like that from time to time.I sold alot of my antiques to a dealer because I wanted to change things up a bit and buy different ones. Just miss a few of the pieces. You enjoy YOUR treasure and show more wisdom than me!!! Have a blessed day!!!Lisa
ReplyDeleteWow! They all sound like great ideas to me. If you have a room able to be redone, that might be a lot of fun.
ReplyDeletehi friend im on a blog break january will be back please bear with me..will be a new start... blessings soraya
ReplyDeleteI had a white iron bed growing up. I don't know what ever happened to it. I'd love to have it now. Yours is very pretty. Make sure you post pictures of the finishing touch!
