  1. Roxie..
    Congratulations on this blogging mile-stone!!!
    So cool!!

Why do I love that purse?
Because, it reminds me of a simpler time.
When life was slower, and celebrations were a bit more meaningful.
A night out with your sweetheart, and the memories to last :)

I used to collect vintage purses like that, and then once I was married, and started having a family, it seemed frivolous and so I sold them at a yard sale.
How I wish that I would have kept them!!
For, as I've grown older, and our children have all grown up, I wish that I had those old purses, and I would use one every time me, and my one true love (married 25 yrs. and counting)
    had date night :)

    Smiles :)

  2. omgosh.....I *LOVE* purses like these! I buy retro dresses, and they require the delightfully tailored, small, smart bags to make them look *right*.
This is a keeper; the detail, the change purse...so many memories of my mother carrying one similar.
    *sigh!*
    Just tooooooo good!

  3. That bag is so adorable Roxie...and aren't you a sweetie for wanting to part with it! As much as we'd love to share it...we'd have to give it to Kerin, because that is just the perfect story! What do we love about this purse...well, it looks like something Doris Day would have carried when she went on a date with Rock in Pillow Talk...you know, when she was in her black gown sitting at the piano singing "Rolly Polly".....and we love it because that change purse is just the cutest!

  8. Congratulations Roxie! I remember when I got my first 50 followers; I was dancing around the house. Blogging has become a wonderful experience . . . meet lovely like - minded people, making friends from all over the world, sharing ideas, and on, and on. When I'm away from my computer for more than a couple days I start getting homesick (blogsick) LOL. I think you know what I mean; I'm sure it happen to most of us.
Well, this purse is fabulous. I love that it is basic black and very elegant. You could carry it anywhere. Steve and I do not go out to many elegant events and when we do, Steve drives, and I usually leave my purse at home. When we were younger we use to go down often . . . it was the disco period when me met. Now a date night is a movie on TV, wearing PJ's and popping our own corn. So even though I think your bag is gorgeous, I'd rather see it go to someone who will use it, and not just set it on a shelf. That purse was meant for showing off.
Also, thank you for stopping by and for your lovely comments. I'm happy that you like my aprons. No, I have never sold any, but have given many as gifts. They go great packaged with a cookbook and rolling pin. I've been thinking a lot about one day trying my hand at selling at our farmer's market, but haven't ever tried. Thanks for the encouragement.

  9. Congrats Roxie!!
    Love the vintage bag too!
Why? Well, first coz it's from you... and second I'm all over that lil coin purse and think they're adorable. (I have a beautiful leather one that was my Grandma Ruby's.) I think this bag would look sweet in my craft room- maybe carried by Maude my dressform. I'd probably keep my MAD money in it... and hide a bag of animal crackers in it that I snack on while crafting. ;)
Now everyone is gonna know where I hide my money and more importantly MY crackers if'n I win. lol)
