CHANGE IS GOOD!?

I took the PLUNGE! After all my life wearing my HAIR LONG....I went to a SALON on WED. at 3:00. I said without hesitation, CUT IT OFF!

The funny thing is I haven't been thinking about it, obsessing about it or worrying about it. I wanted/needed a CHANGE! I needed a PICK-ME-UPPER! I haven't been giving myself attention lately....I needed to.

I'm not one to post pictures of myself but I can say, I went out of my COMFORT ZONE getting my HAIR cut shorter than its ever been. I know with some ladies they can change their hairstyle continuously-no problem .....I admire that

Actually, I've learned CHANGE can be FUN! From one sweetie to another.....Roxie

PEACEFUL MORNING

This is what 7:30 a.m. looks like at my HOME on a PRETTY, PEACEFUL MORNING. You know, we all have our FAVORITE spot that speaks to us...the BIRDS are singing, the sky is BLUE, we are in our OWN LITTLE WORLD (even for a moment). It's our TIME to meditate, pray and talk to our HEAVENLY FATHER, or maybe just "BE STILL" and HEAR what our FATHER is saying to us.....

This area of my HOME and PORCH are still a "work in progress". Looking for the right cushions for my wicker swing and rockers- my new VINTAGE GLIDER is awaiting its make~over. But even then, it's my SANCTUARY on a BEAUTIFUL day! Where is your PEACEFUL SANCTUARY?

The fragrance of LAVENDER.....Can you smell it?

THE $2.00 VINTAGE GLIDER

Here is another VINTAGE GLIDER hubby and I found 3 years ago at a YARD SALE. It was sitting back and away next to a garage. I asked the man having the yard sale was that GLIDER FOR SALE? His response was Yes, I guess I could sell it. I said, How much? He said "I'll take 2". I said "two hundred?" He laughed and said "NO!, $2.00 (two dollars)

These pictures are after my Hubby restored it. He chose a soft green color. He also painted a VINTAGE METAL CHAIR we had that matched it. These sit on our back PORCH facing our field.

As you can see, we LOVE VINTAGE GLIDERS AND CHAIRS. We use them on our property when guests are here, especially by our BON-FIRES!

These 3 vintage metal chairs are our "FAVORITE" so far. They are heavy-duty and have a more distinct shape. Hubby has not painted any of them. They are as we purchased them....anywhere from FREE up to $10

Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL and BLESSED weekend! From one sweetie to another.....Roxie

MY HEALING TESTIMONY

Three years ago, this MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, I was diagnosed with a form of PANCREATIC CANCER. I was 51 years young. I had a baseball size tumor on the head of my PANCREAS and found out 2 months later, it was also wrapped around my main artery in my body. First, I must say when you are given such a diagnosis and what is facing you, I thank GOD that I am the KINGS DAUGHTER. I knew my very LIFE was in his hands but I had a battle before me.

I won't go into the FULL JOURNEY but there has been one MIRACLE after another! For those who have never met me, they would not even know I would have such a condition. I received a Death sentence but I AM A LIVING MIRACLE!! The Tumor is half its size, I was never cut on, and have had NO TREATMENT since JUNE 2010. The DOCTORS just shake their head.......I WALK IN HEALING EVERYDAY and stand on the HEALING WORD of GOD! MIRACLES ARE REAL and I am LIVING PROOF of that!

There is so much to MY TESTIMONY but I know GOD is using me in this area to PRAY, LISTEN to those in need. I don't know what tomorrow holds (no one does) but I will tell the world what GOD has done for me! He is REAL, THE SAVIOUR, THE HEALER, OUR DELIVERER for those who believe in him....The JESUS who died for our Sins, who came to SAVE and GIVE EVERLASTING LIFE if we accept him into our LIFE!

GOD BLESS YOU fellow BLOGGERS! From one SWEETIE to another......Roxie

AROUND THE HOUSE

Here is the NEW COLOR for my FRONT DOOR. I decided to go with a soft black called "DARK KETTLE BLACK" from VALSPAR. I really like how it looks! Potted the Urns with ALYSUM, PINK PETUNIAS, and LIME SWEET POTATOE VINE. Still looking for cushions for my WICKER SWING and Rockers

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Chickens with their two little chicks......YARD SALE FIND.....$12.00 for the whole family

A NEW ADDITION to the PORCH.....VINTAGE GLIDER-SUNBURST DESIGN(rare)...Solid except on front. Hubby will restore and paint(will show pictures when finished) A GREAT BUY for $25.00 at a YARD SALE!

In my Garden, I put this Antique Victorian wire planter. It's in rough shape so I don't mind it in the elements. I have MORNING GLORIES started on it. They will be beautiful soon! I added a WELCOME chalkboard sign too. Can't wait when everything is in FULL BLOOM!

I hope everyone has a BLESSED and HAPPY HOLIDAY WEEKEND!! From one SWEETIE to another....Roxie

FABULOUS FIND ALERT!...VINTAGE JOHN DEERE

What does a VINTAGE 1964 JOHN DEERE garden tractor, $20 (twenty dollars), and a gal. of GAS have in common? ANSWER: FABULOUS FIND ALERT (of the century)!!!

Hubby and I came across a yard sale at an old farm some months back. The young man there was trying to sell this JOHN DEERE to someone else. It wouldn't start.

My hubby walked over to see it and I followed moments later. The young man said "I really need to get rid of a lot of things my Grandparents had...they're deceased now...I don't want this stuff

The young man said "Can't get it started, don't know what is wrong with it. It hasn't been started in years. My hubby said "What are you asking for it? The young man said $50.00. We looked at each other and before we could say "We'll take it, the young man spoke up and said...How about $20.00? I need it GONE! SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!

We took our FABULOUS FIND home. Still sitting on the little trailer, my Hubby and Brother first put some GAS in that VINTAGE JOHN DEERE. LOW and BEHOLD, it STARTED RIGHT UP!

This JOHN DEERE 110 is as SWEET as it can be! Starts up everytime, has the original mower deck, the JD STEERING BUTTON + other things. It PUTTS so PRETTY around the yard! We do not mow with it, just treat it SPECIAL! Hope you enjoyed this FABULOUS FIND!!

MARIE ANTOINETTE, ROSES AND THE ANONYMOUS TREE

I found this GORGEOUS MARIE ANTOINETTE style PORTRAIT~PICTURE the other day at the GOODWILL! Beautiful Frame, quite large, but not an oil painting. It does have a wood backing on it and very thick! I hung it for now, but don't know if I am going to keep! Any comments?

Here is another picture of my CHURCH FEEDER with the SCARLET ROSES on it....I had to show another picture because the ROSES are going CRAZY BEAUTIFUL this year!

"THE ANONYMOUS TREE"

Also known as....The Broccoli Tree, The Joshua Tree............It has always had a beautiful perfect shape for many years. It looked like a stalk of broccoli when it was young. No one seems to know what it is. I have had nursery men, old timers, anyone that I thought may know, but no answer! Any ideas out there? From one sweetie to another....Roxie
