I'm going to show you some gorgeous bathrooms with clawfoot tubs from pinterest. Now mind you, I have suggested to hubby that we should put a small clawfoot tub in the smaller bathroom. We originally were going to keep the older, small tub but now have decided against it.
To my surprise, he says.....I think that might look nice. So the search is on..........
In the meantime, I turn to pinterest.........to dream..........I mean, get ideas! (my tiny bathroom is a far cry from this, but I will love it) I've learned to be content in all things...God is good!

This is what we are considering.................................
But I have this one in my backyard..................the REAL thing!! But weighs a ton! It would need to be refinished...aprox. $400 plus BUT it's TOO big for the space.

I would love to have this console type sink....that's my first choice but I NEED storage....OLD house, not much storage! Of course, I know I can use baskets but I don't know if that's enough...
............ But I am considering this Martha Stewart vanity (sorry for the blurry pic)
Very cottage, lots of storage and a white top. The bottom base is a soft gray called sharkey
Now that the cottage is gutted.......the decisions and hard work begins. It's very exciting but one must be careful to make the right choices. Hope you have enjoyed a little insight to what hubby and I are thinking about and will be deciding very soon. Have a wonderful, blessed week and please be careful and stay warm~~~loving prayers.......Roxie

I love the inspirations.
ReplyDeleteI am sure, what ever you end up with will be lovely and very homey and comfortable. I think I would like a jacuzzi for my bathtub. Lots of candles, looking out over mountains or ocean. Some of the bathroom pictures on Pinterest are just absolutely gorgeous. Like one could spend all there time in the bathroom relaxing.
ReplyDeleteThat Martha Steward sink is adorable and practical. The clawfoot bath is soooooo dreamy, though I do not believe we would ever use it! So, someday when we redo our tiny bathroom it will be all stone tile and shower with a waterfall style shower head.
ReplyDeleteOh Roxie,
ReplyDeleteThe claw foot tub will be so wonderful and I love the Martha Stewart cabinet. The bathroom is going to be so wonderful. Go with your heart and you will love it.
Kris
Gotta love those big ole tubs, loved all the bathrooms with it.....Blessings Francine.

If I could choose one of the tubs, it would be the third photo...dreamy! And the Martha Steward sink looks like it would meet your needs and looks great too.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are keeping us updated and asking our opinions too...Fun, Fun! xo
Hi Roxy! I just love cruising Pinterest for ideas, don't you? Those bathrooms you put up here are so bright and clean. I love it! I could never have just a standing sink. I need the storage too. And I have etageres over my commodes too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck finding just the right things...and how cool is that.. that your husband would agree with your ideas? What a guy!
Hugs, Ceil
Dear Roxie - I really love the look of those claw feet tubs...I could just see taking an old-fashioned bubble bath in one...maybe when you are finished I could come over and try it out! (LOL) - Stay warm friend. God Bless!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos of your Vintage type bathrooms...the sinks and the tubs...My one Uncle has the old fashion clawfoot bathtub in his bathroom upstairs...than downstairs he has a small bathroom with a sink and a shower.
ReplyDeleteCould you email me the link to that one Blog Website that you was telling me about - Craft Home Cottage - Connie...I typed in Craft Home Cottage has her blog but it wasn't the right way of her blog link so if you could - send me the right blog link to my email...thanks....

These tubs are wonderful, Roxie. I have always liked the clawfoot tubs. I love the black and white flooring also. It's going to be so fun decorating your new home. Decisions, Decisions - yes, it will take some time, but in the end, it will be just what you want. The tub in your back yard with the pink flowers is soooo pretty. The flowers are so vibrant with color.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Friday.
Love,
~Sheri

Roxie, we had a clawfoot tub in our old home and I loved it and miss it! You've got so many fun decisions to make! Can't wait to see more :)

Such great ideas, and inspirational pictures!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we were renovating this cottage, our plumber offered to buy and carry out our deep soaking tub. My guess, and his, is that it is from the 40's or 50's. Very deep, and wide.... so great to soak in.
Well, we declined his offer and are so happy that we did. We still need to refinish it, and found a refinishing kit at the hardware store. I was told that it is the same way that hotels re-finish all their tubs, and it is very durable, and well wearing. One of these days we'll give it a try :)
No matter what you decide.. it's going to look awesome!
Thanks for your thoughtful comments on my blog post. It's a somber topic, and one that I really hate to think about. Sad day.
Hope that you have a great weekend, and get lots done around the cottage :)
Smiles :)

Hi Roxie, I love claw foot tubs, they are not just gorgeous, but the recline is perfect and they are so comfortable. I have never owned one, by when I was younger, I did have a few apartments with them. One apartment actually had one that was 6 feet long. I could lay back and float in it :) Have you ever visited Mary Jane's Farm blog? She has an outdoor bed and breakfast with romantic tents and outdoor claw foot soaking tubs :)
ReplyDeleteOh before I say goodbye, I want to thank you for sending Linda of, Linda K's Stitching Corner, my way. She is my newest follwer.
Have a lovely day,
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Oh, all those tubs are beautiful! I think you should find a vanity that has more counter space if you can. I know that is what I want more than anything in the bathroom. Storage and countertops, yup, you know what looks good!!
ReplyDeleteWow, awesome.
ReplyDeleteI like your inspiration pictures, especially the first one. I would love a claw foot bathtub when I redo the bathroom in twenty years from here!
ReplyDeleteWe have a clawfoot tub that definitely needs a make over. Had no idea how much it would cost. May consider doing it in the future. Your blog is darling.
